Kaushal shared the video on Instagram and wrote: “Get Socha, get Jaana and #MereMehboobMereSanam aagaya! The song is out now (sic)!”

The video begins with a hilarious fight between Kaushal and Virk, both of whom are vying to impress Dimri.

Sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan and recomposed by Lijo George and DJ Chetas, Javed Akhtar’s lyrics based on Anu Malik’s original composition were criticised as a “tasteless remix”.

Internet users immediately criticized the remix on X/Twitter.

One user shared the original song clip with the caption, “Watched the original song after watching this headache video.”

Another commented: “I’m sorry, but when the track Only Mehboob, only Sanam When I think of Farah Khan’s visuals with the excess cuteness of SRK, Juhi and Sonali.”

Another commented: “I can’t believe they remade Only Mehboob and couldn’t even be bothered to do the hook step. What a terrible video.”

Meanwhile, some positive reactions

On the other hand, the song has sparked excitement among another section of fans who are eagerly awaiting the film’s premiere on Friday (July 19).

One fan expressed his excitement to see Kaushal on the big screen, while another expressed his impatience for an early release on OTT platforms.

The film’s unique plot, revealed in the trailer, in which the character played by Dimri learns that she is expecting twins from two different fathers, portrayed by Kaushal and Virk, has intrigued the audience.

The other two songs released so far received love

So far, two songs from the upcoming film have been presented to the audience: Tauba, Brazil And Jaanam.

Tauba, Brazil was a smash hit, topping the music charts, largely thanks to Kaushal’s impressive dancing skills.

Meanwhile the other song, Jaanam has triggered mixed reactions.

In an interview, Kaushal revealed that his wife Katrina Kaif advised him to “exercise control” in his on-screen dance routines, but she praised his moves in Tauba, Brazil as “perfect”.
