Renasant review: Nashville Soccer Club loses 2-1 at DC United

WASHINGTON, DC, (July 13, 2024) – Nashville Soccer Club lost 2-1 at DC United on Saturday night, despite Tyler Boyd scoring his second goal of the season in Matchday 19.^th minute. The game also marked the debut of Isaiah Jones as the first Homegrown player to receive competitive playing time at Nashville SC. The 18-year-old signed with the club on February 7^th2024, making him the second academy player to make the transition from the gold mine to the first team.

Homegrown’s debut: Jones made history as Nashville SC’s first homegrown player, scoring seven minutes plus injury time after coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute.^rd Minute. The former Academy player was the third member to make an MLS debut under interim coach Rumba Munthali (Forster Ajago at Toronto FC; Joey Skinner at Columbus Crew).

Boyd’s in store: Boyd’s 19^th-minute goal was his fifth goal involvement of the MLS season, making him the third-leading scorer for the Boys in Gold (two goals, three assists – also behind Dru Yearwood).
