AMD’s Ryzen 9 7900X3D was released earlier this year as a 12-core 3D V-Cache CPU. Compared to the other two 3D V-Cache options within the Zen 4 lineup, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the 7900X3D didn’t receive as much attention from consumers because it’s technically a 6-core 3D V-Cache part, while the other two have 8 cores boosted by the 3D V-Cache stack, making them a better solution for gaming applications in general.
But the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D is a 12-core CPU and offers excellent multi-threaded efficiency, and even with just 6 cores, it’s a very good gaming solution. At launch, the CPU’s MSRP was $599, and while the chip recently dropped below $350, it’s now available for even less.
The latest discount comes from eBay via Antonline, who are selling the chip for $309.99, a 48% discount from the MSRP. That’s a great price as the chip has plenty of gaming potential and if gaming isn’t your thing, you can expect great multi-threaded performance as well. In addition to the Ryzen 9 7900X3D, other Ryzen 7000 CPUs have also seen similar price cuts ahead of the next-gen Ryzen 9000 CPUs based on the Zen 5 core architecture.
As for the specifications, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU is based on the Zen 4 core architecture and has a total of 12 cores and 24 threads. The CPU has a base clock of 4.40 GHz and can be boosted up to 5.60 GHz. The CPU has 12 MB L2 and 128 MB L3 cache, of which 64 MB is stacked on a single CCD. The CPU has a base TDP of 120W and features a Radeon 610M iGPU with 2 CUs for light workloads and debugging purposes. Overall, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU is a very strong multi-threaded chip that competes with the Core i7-14700K, offers better efficiency and the 3D V-Cache helps it in gaming.
