ElevenLabs.io has released an iOS app that reads text content, including books, PDFs, ePubs, and documents, to users on the go.
The ElevenLabs Reader app allows the user to select a voice.
This text-to-speech tool is available in English for residents of the US, Canada and the UK. The company has set up a waitlist for Android users.
Available voices include deceased actors How Judy Garland, James Dean, Burt Reynolds, And Sir Laurence Olivier.
“Adding her to our growing roster of speakers is an important step forward in our mission to make content accessible in any language and with any voice,” said the start-up.
The partnership with the stars’ estates comes two months after ChatGPT maker OpenAI came under fire for introducing a synthetic voice that bears an eerie resemblance to Scarlett Johansson’s character in “Her.”
Johansson said she was “shocked, angry and incredulous” that the company would use her similar image after turning down a partnership opportunity with OpenAI.
Today we are launching the ElevenLabs iOS app!
You can listen to any article, book or document with our AI-generated voices.
