The best walkout songs for UFC Denver: All about the tracks from Rose Namajunas vs. Tracy Cortez Fight Night

The best walkout songs for UFC Denver: All about the tracks from Rose Namajunas vs. Tracy Cortez Fight Night

Rose Namajunas will take over Tracy Cortes in the main event of UFC Fight Night Denver on Saturday. ‘Thug Rose’, of course, moved up to the 125-pound women’s flyweight division last year after losing her strawweight title to Carla Esparaza last year. Since her promotion, she has put together a decent streak, winning and losing one fight each, both by decision. Cortez, on the other hand, is undefeated and a win over Namajunas would not only put her in the top ten, but also on the shortlist for a title shot.

While the card will consist primarily of unranked fighters, there is no shortage of potentially exciting, action-packed encounters such as the co-main event fight between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Turkish lightweight candidate Muslim Salikhov. A few familiar faces like Cody Brundage And Drew Dober will also be featured on the card, with both competing in tough matchups against exciting talent. And before the fight, let’s take a look at the songs the stars are likely to perform to.

As for Namajunas’ farewell song, the former champion has always been consistent, leaving the fight to either “Praise Yah” by Lorvins or to the tunes of “Prolific Praise” by Trey McLaughlin, as she did in her last fight against Amanda Ribas. Cortez, on the other hand, has one song that she left all five of her UFC fights to: “Como la Flor” by Selena Y Los Dinos, and she will likely use it in her upcoming fight against Namajunas as well.

Rose Namajunas lost her debut 125-pound fight to Manon Fiorot last year, but rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Amanda Ribas in March. She was originally scheduled to face No. 4 Maycee Barber in Denver, but she pulled out three weeks before the fight. She was matched up with No. 12 Tracy Cortez, who is undefeated in the UFC. The Colorada native was scheduled to face Miranda Maverick in another Fight Night next week, but she stepped in after Barber pulled out.

Santiago Ponzinibbio, who just suffered a defeat against Kevin Holland last year, will look to rebound in the co-main event against fellow unranked welterweight Muslim Salikhov. Ponzinibbio performed to the sounds of “Pa’ la Seleccion” by La T y L a M during his last Octagon appearance and could choose that music for his next fight as well.

Salikhov, on the other hand, comes out with an interpretation of the Turkish television show of the same name about the legendary Ottoman general, “Resurrection: Ertugrul”. Drew Dober, who Jean Silva in a lightweight bout on the main card, will likely be to the upbeat tunes of ‘This Is How We Do It’ by Montell Jordan.

Another notable name on the card will of course be Cody Brundage, who will face Abdul Razak Al-Hassan on the Denver card. Brundage chose “Fantasy” by Mariah Carey as his walkout song at UFC 300, although it’s still unclear what song he’ll walk out to in Denver. What are your predictions for the card?
