Jim Harbaugh spotted at West Michigan Pizzeria
Jim Harbaugh may no longer be part of the University of Michigan football program, but it seems he still enjoys hanging out in the Mitten State.
Coach Harbaugh led the Michigan Wolverines to the top last season, helping them to a 34-13 victory in the National Championship game against the Washington Huskies. But that was the end of his time in Ann Arbor, at least as a coach, as he moved on to become head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers (where he will coach former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford).
Jim Harbaugh’s connections to the state of Michigan
But just because he coaches a different team in a different state doesn’t mean Jim Harbaugh doesn’t still love Michigan. In fact, the coach spent many years in Michigan, starting as a child when he lived in Ann Arbor from 1973 to 1979. After leaving the state for a few years, he returned to study at the University of Michigan and play for its football team.
And in a move that felt like a homecoming, Harbaugh returned again in 2014 to take the reins as head coach of the University of Michigan football team. Harbaugh stayed with the team for nine seasons, eventually winning the national championship.
Jim Harbaugh visits Russo’s in Gun Lake, Michigan
It appears that Coach Harbaugh is spending little time in Michigan this summer as he prepares for the start of the NFL season.
Harbaugh was spotted at Russo’s Pizzeria in Gun Lake this week.
He even took the time to pose for a photo with owner Joey Russo.
As you can see, he is still wearing his trademark khaki pants.
He also took the time to sign a menu.
The real question is: What did he order? Pizza? A sandwich? Stromboli?
