Thirtyone Mile Mountain and southern South Park areas are being reviewed

As part of a comprehensive initiative to catalog existing routes in the 31 Mile Mountain and southern South Park area in northern Fremont and southern Park Counties, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Royal Gorge Field Office is seeking public input on initial inventory efforts.

“We are working to put together an accurate assessment of the routes on your public lands and their use,” said Doug Mayes, Royal Gorge field manager. “With the public’s help, we can ensure we are making decisions based on the best information possible.”

The current route inventory can be found here: https://logansimpson.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.htmlid=6fc830c406864701af64fb2c8e225bdd&extent=-11828862.3394%2C4659690.662%2C-11696396.9694%2C4730012.7281%2C102100

Members of the public can provide feedback through the project’s ePlanning site here: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2033075/510

According to the BLM, the most helpful comments from the public should include route numbers, photos or other identifying information.

For those who may not know it, Thirtynine Mile Mountain is located forty miles as the crow flies west of Colorado Springs, thirty miles by road southeast of Hartsel, and less than ten miles north of the town of Guffey.
