Clipse presents song during the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris

Pharrell unveiled his latest Spring/Summer 2025 men’s collection for Louis Vuitton early Tuesday (June 18) during Paris Fashion Week, and for the second year in a row, a new song from Clipse made its debut.

After about 40 minutes, haunting piano sounds play for about two minutes before you can hear John Legend’s voice singing, “The birds don’t sing.”

Then we hear Pusha T rap about the death of his mother, Mildred Thornton, in November 2021, and the bars are heartbreaking. “Lost in emotions, mama’s youngest/ Trying to navigate life without my compass/ Some experience death and feel numbness/ But not me, I felt it all and couldn’t function.”

His brother No Malice takes over the second verse, and it focuses on their father, Elliott Thornton Sr., who died in March 2022. “Your car was in the driveway, I knew you were home/ The third knock sent shivers down my spine/ The way you miss momma, I guess I should have known/ Chivalry ain’t dead, you didn’t let her go alone,” he raps, painting a picture of the moment he found his father’s body.

Last year, the duo also released a new song that sent the rap community into a frenzy with its subtle digs at Jim Jones, who boldly claimed that Push was not one of the top 50 rappers of all time.

Billboard We reached out to Pusha’s reps for more information, and while they weren’t ready to give any information away, they confirmed that what we heard was about a new Clipse record. “At this time, there are no details we can share other than that the show is indeed about a new Clipse record,” they told us in a statement.

Stay tuned here as more information about this alleged project they are cooking up will come to light.
