Paul Young shared the first photo of himself and his new wife on their wedding day.

The popular singer from the 1980s married his fiancée Lorna yesterday (July 11).

The wedding comes six years after the death of Paul’s first wife Stacey. She died of brain cancer in 2018, leaving the singer devastated.

Fortunately, however, Paul has found love again and said his wedding day was “one of the happiest” of his life.

Last night, the 80s heartthrob shared a photo of himself and his new wife on social media.

The picture shows the beaming couple in the back seat of a car. Lorna looked stunning in her embroidered white wedding dress with a high slit that showed off her toned and tanned legs.

Paul, on the other hand, looked dashing in his blue suit and rust-colored tie.

He captioned the post: “Meet the new Mrs. Young! Today I married the most wonderful girl. Thank you Lorna, this is one of the happiest days of my life.”

There were few comments on Paul’s post, but those who could were quick to congratulate him.

“Congratulations to you both. I wish you a world of happiness and nothing but joy for the rest of your lives,” one said.

Another added: “Congratulations. Although I wish you had married me.” A third felt the same: “I wanted to marry you for almost 40 years and you overlooked me!”

Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker also commented, saying: “I’m so happy for you both, Paul!” Jools Holland also appeared and said: “Congratulations.”

A guest at the wedding also commented. He said: “Congratulations, lovebirds. It was such a beautiful and fun celebration of your love. Thank you for sharing it with us. Eternal love to you!”

About the loss of his first wife

Paul proposed to Lorna last year, five years after losing Stacey, with whom he had three children.

When they got engaged, Lorna posted: “My world, my love, my everything, five years of joy, I couldn’t love anyone more.”

The singer recently spoke about his loss and how it changed his outlook on life.

“I wanted to make something of my life and do something for the kids. The work was cathartic. I want to live as long as possible and the older I get, the more my body seems to tell me what I should and shouldn’t eat. That means I eat less red meat and more vegetables.”
