Taylor Swift debuts new costumes and swallows another bug on first night of Milan Eras Tour

Taylor Swift’s first Eras tour show in Milan was interrupted – by a virus!

During the concert at the San Siro Stadium on Saturday, July 13, the 34-year-old superstar began coughing after swallowing a virus during the “Secret Songs” section of the show.

“I knew it was going to happen because there are so many bugs here tonight,” she told the worried crowd during her surprise mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew.”

“It’ll be fine, I just have to cough a little bit,” she added before continuing with the show, just as she had done when she previously swallowed bugs at Era Tours shows in London in June and in Chicago in 2023.

Aside from the Beetle moment, Swift also showed off updated outfits at her Milan show.

The first outfit that caught fans’ attention was her Fearless Era costume that had black and gold patterns protruding from the center. This led some fans to speculate that Call (Taylor’s Version) The announcement could come soon.

Swift also wore a matching turquoise set for the 1989 Part of the show, a first for this color combination.

The next costume update took place during her Department for Tortured Poets set, wearing a white dress with the lyrics from “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” printed on it in cursive. Her previous dress for the set had the lyrics from “Fortnight”: “I love you, it’s ruining my life.”

At one point during the show, the audience began chanting “Sei Bellissima” to her, which means “You are very beautiful” in Italian. The 14-time Grammy winner seemed overwhelmed with love.

Swift’s show in Milan comes after the “Karma” singer performed two nights of her three-and-a-half-hour Eras tour in Zurich on July 9 and 10.

“The Eras Tour has brought with it so many firsts… for example, I’ve never been to Switzerland before. This place is breathtakingly beautiful and I loved playing in front of these two amazing crowds in Zurich,” Swift wrote on Instagram about her experience.

“Pretty crazy considering there are only 7 cities left on the European leg of the tour. Next up is a city I’ve been looking forward to playing for so long: Milan!! 🇮🇹”

On July 9, Swift celebrated her 113th show of the Eras Tour by playing several of her “favorite songs” for the Swiss audience, including Always‘s “Right where you left me”, 1989‘s “All You Had to Do Was Stay” and Red‘s “Sad Beautiful Tragic”. She also honored the date with the piece “Last Kiss” by Speak Now for the crowd, as the lyrics mention July 9th.

Before her shows in Switzerland, Swift performed for three nights in Amsterdam. On July 6, Swift paid tribute to Kelce with a mashup performance of her 2006 songs “Mary’s Song,” “So High School,” and “Everything Has Changed,” which left the NFL star quite emotional.

After the show, the couple were spotted holding hands as they left the arena’s backstage area after the show. In a video posted to TikTok by a concertgoer, Swift smiled and waved to fans while Kelce raised his arms in the air and cheered on the cheering crowd.

Swift has two shows in Milan and will conclude the European leg of the tour in August with five nights at Wembley Stadium in London before returning across the pond for a final leg in North America.
