Shoppes at Solana event promotes self-love among youth

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Because mental health should be a priority, a special event dedicated to promoting emotional well-being and self-love among youth ages 13 and up will be held on Saturday, July 20, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Shoppes at Solana, formerly Sunland Park Mall.

The main purpose of this event, the #OURLIVESMATTER Teen Summit and Fashion Show, is to provide a supportive space and resources for young people facing emotional challenges, according to a press release from the Shoppes at Solana.

The event will also feature professional counsellors on hand to provide advice and emotional support, and a range of activities designed to encourage self-confidence and self-love, including photo areas, make-up and hair styling stations, a snack bar, interactive games, a fashion show where young people can express their talent and confidence, and music with DJs Nitro and Tornado.

“Mental health is a fundamental aspect of young people’s lives and it is crucial for them to know that they are not alone,” said Brenda Reyes, the event’s organizer. “We invite all young people to share, learn and enjoy with us a day dedicated to promoting mental health and self-love.”
