Hyderabad: Actor Arvind Krishna is known for his performances in films like Rama Rao on Duty, A Masterpiece: Rise of Superhero, Shukra and SIT, which has been trending for the last eight weeks. Arvind is also known for his vegan lifestyle since he took the plunge a few years ago.

Awarded as “Vegan Voice of India”

Arvind has been a Veganuary ambassador for over two years and recently attended the Vegan India Conference held in Mumbai on July 6-7, 2024. Arvind and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez were among the panelists at the conference. Both shared their thoughts and shared their vegan journey.

Arvind was awarded the Vegan Voice of India award for his contribution to spreading a healthier, kinder and more sustainable lifestyle. “Veganism is a way of life,” comments Arvind, adding that the honour has made him more responsible. “I accept the award with a sense of obligation and duty. Perhaps this is the universe’s way of inspiring me to do more and further strengthen the vegan cause.”

The only actor-basketball player

Arvind is also the only professional basketball player in the country. As an actor and sportsman, Arvind’s journey as a vegan has been inspiring. He says that veganism complements his acting and athletic skills. “From muscle recovery and reducing the risk of inflammation in the body to improving endurance and performance, veganism has helped me achieve great results,” says Arvind, who became vegan for environmental and ethical reasons.

As an actor too, he noticed that his skin looked brighter and better than before. “Veganism has helped my overall well-being; it has improved my body and breathing… it has made my thinking clearer. My thought process has deepened and I have been able to make smarter decisions when it comes to accepting scripts and roles,” explains Arvind, who is currently shooting for his upcoming film A Masterpiece: Rise of Superhero.
