Famous faces at the lavish Ambani wedding

In what is known as the “royal wedding of India,” Anant Ambani, the son of Asia’s richest man, married his long-time love Radhika Merchant.

Mukesh Ambani spared no expense when it came to the union of his youngest son with his new daughter-in-law, shelling out hundreds of millions.

Although Anant and Radhika, both 29, officially tied the knot on Friday, their lavish celebrations are expected to continue throughout the weekend, kicking off with ‘Shubh Vivah’ on July 12, followed by ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ on July 13 and culminating with ‘Mangal Utsav’ on July 14.

Not luxurious enough, you say? Well, we left out the icing on the cake…the preparations for their wedding took five extended months, with a series of extravagant pre-wedding parties.

At her first appearance in March, Rihanna raked in a whopping $6 million for a performance that was somewhat reminiscent of her 2023 Superbowl spectacle.

Two months later, the bride and groom took a Mediterranean cruise with performances by Andrea Bocelli, Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys.

Earlier this week, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber flew to Mumbai to entertain Anant and Radhika’s star-studded party guest list.

In addition to well-known faces from Indian pop culture, big names from all over the world also flew to Mumbai to celebrate the couple’s wedding.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian were in attendance at the lavish event. Both sisters looked radiant. Kim wore a Princess Jasmine-inspired two-piece in scarlet, while Khloe wore a white and gold number.

The reality stars revealed that they took their camera crew to the film “The Kardashians” so viewers could see “Kim and Khloe conquer India.”

Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie also flew to Mumbai to celebrate Anant and Radhika, and guess what: they brought their three little ones with them!

Former professional wrestler and now actor John Cena looked dapper at the event, wearing a light blue Nehru jacket and white pants.

Indian-born actress Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas also attended the lavish event in Mumbai, almost six years after they celebrated their own Indian wedding.

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie also pulled out all the stops for Anant and Radhika’s celebrations.

Other famous faces expected to attend the lavish event, according to local media, include Lana Del Rey, Adele, David Beckham and Drake.

Anant’s father Mukesh Ambani comes from Reliance Industries, a huge conglomerate with interests in energy, gas, entertainment, retail, telecommunications and more.

With an estimated net worth of $123.3 billion as of July 2024, he is the 11th richest man in the world. The wedding festivities, which will span five months, are expected to cost over $600 million.
