Dramatic episode “Casa Amor” on Love Island breaks record for current series

The latest episode of Love Island last night (July 3) saw the explosive return of Casa Amor, leading to record-breaking viewing figures for the series.

The twist, which often puts a huge strain on relationships within the villa, saw the Love Island girls move to Casa Amor to see if they were poached by new male islanders.

Meanwhile, the boys stayed in the main villa and were joined by new, stunning women – Ayo Odukoya and Sean Stone approached the new residents behind their partners’ backs.

Ahead of an extended episode airing tonight (July 4) in fiery aftermath, the previous episode broke viewing records for Love Island season 11.

Last night’s episode reached 1.4 million viewers, making it the highest-rated episode of the current series since its launch. The episode also attracted the largest overnight audience of 16-34 year olds to date, with 449,000 viewers.

The episode ended with a heartbreaking twist as Matilda Draper and Konnor Ewudzi received text messages confirming that their time getting to know the new additions to the cast was over and now the show’s most difficult reunion yet was upon them.

In tonight’s episode, the guys and girls will decide whether to move into the villa with someone new or stay with their original partners. A little taste of the drama to come showed Maya with tears in her eyes at an emotional reunion.

Meanwhile, Curtis Pritchard’s post-villa romance appears to be drama-free. He has now confirmed his relationship with Sophie Sheridan on social media after rumors of a relationship between them since their pantomime performance together.

Curtis shared some photos from their vacation in St. Lucia and said he had “the best time with my (heart emoji).”

Love Island will be broadcast on ITV2 and streamed on ITVX.
