Love Island’s Marcel on “betrayal” after accusations that his wife cheated on him

Love Island’s Marcel Somerville has broken his silence after being accused of cheating on his wife.

The reality star and former Blazin’ Squad rapper married Rebecca Vieira in 2022, but last month allegations surfaced that Rebecca had been messaging and meeting up with another man, which she admitted in an Instagram post.

Marcel posted a series of photos of himself and his young son Roman, whom he has with Rebecca, on Instagram today (March 19), along with a lengthy caption addressing the allegations.

“The last three weeks have shaken me to the core. There is no right way to deal with betrayal and I have experienced so many emotions since the incident that I feel a different emotion every hour of the day,” he began.

“Anger, embarrassment, fear, depression, doubts about my worth, loneliness, sadness and sometimes these feelings coupled with the noise that comes from the whole world knowing my situation and everyone having an opinion and telling me what to do and what not to do can cause me to make hasty decisions.

“The so-called ‘diss track’ was not an attack, but was meant to be my statement on the situation, but it was not the best way to do it. I realized that afterwards and that’s why I decided to remove the clip.”

Marcel further stated that his “heart is broken” and added that he will “need some time to heal” so that he can be “mentally strong” for his son.

He concluded: “Everything I do from now on will only be to keep that peace and make sure Roman is happy. Any decisions I make about myself and Rebecca will be made privately and away from the circus that was created and that I wanted to be drawn into before I caught myself.”

After the allegations became known, Rebecca publicly apologized to Marcel in her Instagram story for “all the hurt, embarrassment and pain” (via Metro).

“My actions were stupid and hurt so many people around us, but most of all my husband. I said a lot of things I shouldn’t have said and it was stupid of me, so I’m not going to sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should never have been made,” she said.

“I want to apologize publicly to my Marcel, as loudly as the rest of the noise. Despite all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have caused him, there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No one could ever compare to you. I love you beyond measure, without doubt, without question, you are my beginning and my end, my eternal love.”
