London Underground map gets Taylor version update ahead of Eras show

Thousands of loyal Taylor Swift fans are flocking to London today to experience the first night of the singer’s highly anticipated Eras tour at Wembley Stadium.

She’s already performed her three-and-a-half hour set on stages all over the world, and now it’s finally time for London to get in on the act. But for anyone unfamiliar with the capital, London Underground has launched a new Eras-themed tube map to help you prepare.

The official Transport for London account shared the “Tube Map (Taylor’s Version)” on X, formerly Twitter, on June 21. Swifties loved the creative new map design and the post garnered over 350,400 views and 4,700 likes within hours.

Forget the Bakerloo, Central and District lines, as they have all been redesigned in the Eras style and named after one of the singer’s many albums (only her versions, of course). Londoners will be travelling on the Fearless, Speak Now, 1989 and Reputation lines instead for the next three days.

The Swiftification of the Tube doesn’t end there, though. Transport for London has also given every Tube stop a whole new name, and they all now reference their lyrics and song titles.

The mastermind behind the redesigned London Underground map will help Swifties reach Wembley Stadium in style over the next three days (followed by five more dates in August).

Newsweek has emailed Transport for London for comment.

One person who probably doesn’t need the map for guidance, however, is Swift herself, who lived in London while dating British actor Joe Alwyn.

Swift is widely believed to have dated Alwyn between 2016 and 2023 before they went their separate ways. The split was followed by a whirlwind romance with another Brit, Matty Healy, the lead singer of The 1975.

When the billionaire pop singer announced her latest album at the Grammy Awards in February, many speculated that it would be about her romance with Alwyn, during which they faced many engagement rumors. But listeners soon learned that many of The “Tortured Poets” section is presumably about Healy, despite their short-lived romance.

In fact, excitement is building in and around London as the city prepares for the sold-out stadium tour. Everyone seems excited to be part of the Eras Tour, with London Mayor Sadiq Khan also sharing an Instagram video revealing some of the preparations ahead of the first show at Wembley.

Alongside the clip, he joked that it’s been “a long time coming” but now it’s finally time for London to take centre stage.

Footage also circulated on social media allegedly showing the King’s guards playing a version of “Shake It Off” in front of Buckingham Palace.
