Taylor Swift exhibition in London: Information

The Songbook Trail is the title of the (temporary and free) exhibition at the V&A Museum in London dedicated to the contemporary pop star. Costumes, song lyrics, music videos, instruments, awards and storyboards are on display for the public, including many items from Swift’s personal archivesome of which have never been shown to the public before, from their childhood to their worldwide fame. Whether you attended a tour date in Milan or London, you can now follow the career of your favorite artist.

Taylor Swift, the London exhibition: information and dates

The exhibition opens on July 27 and closes on October 8. It includes 13 stopseach dedicated to a specific era of their career. Items on display include the cowboy boots they wore in 2007 and the black frilly dress they wore in the music video for Fourteen daysa single from their latest album, The “Tortured Poets” section.

The exhibition in the curator’s words

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase a selection of Taylor Swift’s iconic looks,” commented Kate BaileySenior Curator of Theatre and Performance at the V&A. “Taylor Swift’s songs tell stories like objects, often drawing inspiration from art, history and literature. We hope this museum tour will encourage curious visitors to learn more about the artist, her creativity and the V&A’s objects.” The exhibition at the V&A was curated by Tom Piperknown for his set design projects for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the poppy installation at the Tower of London and the exhibition “Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser” at the V&A.
