Chris Pine’s neighbor fights for the actor’s removal in ongoing dispute

Helen Yu, Chris Pine’s neighbor, has been trying to depose the actor in the ongoing legal battle since December 2023, but claims he has evaded her attempts.

This revelation comes from court documents obtained by In contact weekly.

The process between the contractor The start date for the show “Star and His Neighbor” has been pushed back to November after both parties agreed to postpone the original start date in August.

The neighbor, a well-known entertainment attorney, originally filed the lawsuit in 2022, claiming Chris was liable for trespass, harassment and negligence.

At the heart of the dispute is the planting of Ficus Benjamin trees on the actor’s property, which Helen says has caused significant problems for her Los Angeles home, which borders Chris’s property.

She said: “Ficus Benjamina are known for their extremely invasive root system. By his actions or inaction, (Chris) unreasonably, negligently or intentionally caused or permitted the root system of (his trees) planted at the property line to invade (Helen’s home), resulting in significant and ongoing damage to (Helen’s home), including cracks in the walls and significant damage to the plumbing and pipes, pool, pool deck and other areas in or around (Helen’s home), thereby creating an unreasonably unsafe condition and interfering with (Helen’s) use and enjoyment of (her) property.”

Helen’s attorney wrote: “The intrusion and entry (of Helen’s home) through (Chris’ trees) constitutes a continuing and noxious nuisance, has caused substantial and ongoing damage to (Helen’s) property, created an unreasonably unsafe condition, and interfered with (Helen’s) use and enjoyment of her property.”

After a few months, the actor filed a countersuit against his neighbor, the lawyer.

The Unstoppable star claims that his neighbor’s fence encroaches on his property and is demanding that it be removed. He argues that he has lost a significant portion of his property due to the fence and that he can no longer use his property to its full extent.

The actor bought the property in 2010 for $3 million, and today it is worth $4.8 million. Helen denies any wrongdoing and disputes Chris’ claims.
