Israel attacks Hamas paragliding facility and advances further into Rafah

An Israeli Air Force (IAF) plane hit a paraglider storage facility in Rafah, the IDF said on Saturday morning.

According to the military, the facility was used by Hamas’ air defense unit in Rafah and housed paragliders that were used during the terrorist organization’s rampage through southern Israel on October 7 last year.

In other operational activities in the southern Gaza city in recent days, Israeli troops worked to destroy numerous underground tunnel shafts, killing a number of terrorists, the IDF added.

In one incident, three terrorists operating near a tunnel shaft fired on troops in the area, the military said. In response, Israeli ground troops carried out an Israeli Air Force attack on the terror cell.

Images of paragliders have become a motif shared by Hamas supporters online and elsewhere since the war began.

Earlier this week, during its operations in Rafah, the Israeli military reported that the 162nd Division had killed several terrorists, tracked down weapons and destroyed underground terror infrastructure.
