Morgan Wallen cancels concerts in Tampa and Charlotte due to illness

Morgan Wallen played a sold-out concert in Tampa last night as part of his One Night At A Time tour. However, he will not be able to make his second appearance at Raymond James Stadium today.

The country singer said he woke up too sick to perform again this week. He also postponed his concert dates scheduled for July 18 and 19 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The cancellation was announced just an hour before the venue was scheduled to open.

“I hate to postpone shows but I struggled through last night in Tampa despite being sick and unfortunately woke up today feeling much worse,” Wallen posted on X at 3:43 p.m., hours before tonight’s concert was scheduled to begin. “I wouldn’t give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight and because of that I have to postpone tonight’s show in Tampa to October 4th and the shows in Charlotte next week to October 18th and 19th.”

Jelly Roll, one of Wallen’s opening acts, posted that he is trying to organize a replacement show for Tampa tonight and asked fans on X to stay tuned.

This isn’t the first time Wallen has postponed a concert due to feeling unwell. After he canceled a 2023 performance at the University of Mississippi’s Vaught Hemingway Stadium, a security guard accused Wallen of being too drunk to sing. BEST Crowd Management, the security guard’s employer, denied the claim in a statement re-released by Wallen’s label.

Some Tampa fans decided to look at the positive side of things.

“See you on October 4th,” posted X-user @jarroyo30. “The weather will be much nicer.”

Others seemed skeptical.

“It’s okay to admit you’re just hungover,” X-user @TheDegenWeekly replied. “The party scene in Tampa is top notch.”

And then there was a theory involving the famous strip club Mons Venus.
