Dynamic North Crowley QB Chris Jimerson Jr. chooses North Texas despite multiple offers

North Crowley 2025 QB Chris Jimerson Jr. (5’11, 175) has chosen North Texas despite offers from Texas State, Louisiana and Arkansas State.

Jimerson originally committed to TCU as an ATH, but decided to reopen his recruitment when UNT gave him the opportunity to stay as quarterback, a position where he has excelled against top-tier competition from Texas high schools.

The DCTF three-star player totaled over 4,000 yards on offense and scored 52 touchdowns, earning him District 3-6A MVP honors as a junior in 2023.

The relationships Jimerson has built with North Texas quarterbacks coach Sean Brophy, offensive coordinator Jordan Davis and head coach Eric Morris were key factors in his decision. He also wants to reconnect with WR Mason Ferguson, who signed with UNT in 2024 and was his top deep ball target last season.

Jimerson can envision himself thriving in UNT’s offensive scheme, which has proven successful for quarterbacks of his size and style of play.

Given Chandler Rogers’ success last season and Chandler Morris’ potential this season, Jimerson believes he can follow a similar path to success in Denton.

“I can really see myself fitting into their offense, and they’ve had success with quarterbacks my size coming through their program,” he said.

Jimerson’s commitment to North Texas is significant because he is a dynamic and versatile player. As the leader of North Crowley, a recruiting powerhouse in the DFW metroplex, his connections could further strengthen UNT’s position.
