Dodgers fans express concern over injured starting lineup

In a recent Dodgers Nation poll on Twitter/X, fans voiced their opinions on all current aspects of the team, from handling the injury-plagued starting lineup to evaluating Dave Roberts’ job this season.

With the All-Star break and trade deadline approaching, fans voiced their concerns about the Dodgers and the changes they wanted to see before the postseason.

By far the biggest concern was the starting grid.

It’s no secret that the rotation’s consistency has suffered from injuries all season, with the recent additions of Tyler Glasnow, Walker Buehler and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the injured list leaving fans disheartened.

In addition, the healthy starters are struggling. Bobby Miller was relegated to Triple-A on July 10 after the worst start of his career.

One fan who disagreed pointed out that the rotation isn’t doing too badly in terms of the standings and that trouble is inevitable in baseball.

While the rotation received some criticism from fans, the bullpen received more support than in previous polls.

Although the bullpen has also struggled with injuries, fans praised the relievers for pulling the Dodgers out of the slump caused by rocky starts and blamed the rotation for the losses.

Regarding the field players, the fans’ opinions were divided.

A fan demanded a permanent place for two players in the infield.

After Max Muncy’s injury, the Dodgers need to fill the third base position. While this fan suggested Miguel Vargas for third base, other fans had suggestions for transfer targets.

The majority of fans support the Dodgers’ front office’s job this season, but with the transfer deadline ending later this month and some fans pushing for certain moves, approval of the front office’s job could rise or fall sharply in the coming weeks.

Many fans expressed dissatisfaction with Dave Roberts in the comments of these polls, particularly with his handling of the team’s injury overload. However, when asked directly about Roberts, fans voted for the Los Angeles manager.

But one fan made his opinion clear, no matter how harsh it was.
