VOSD podcast: Biden fizzles out

The drama surrounding Biden’s exit from the race continues this week: Representative Scott Peters is calling on the president to drop out of the race. Will other local representatives join the call? The hosts of the podcast “The Voice of San Diego” take turns speculating in this week’s episode.

In other local news, the city of San Diego is close to fully approving two new sites for much-needed homeless services: a secure parking lot at H Barracks near the airport and a massive homeless shelter in a warehouse in Middletown at the corner of Kettner Boulevard and Vine Street. But after many closed meetings to discuss the plans, San Diegans are still largely in the dark.

Host Scott Lewis explains what we know and what we don’t as the City Council prepares to complete these critical projects.

Lewis now turns to county politics and will analyze the Board of Supervisors’ decision to create a significant exemption from the mileage fee – a key measure to reduce car emissions and a bogeyman for developers looking to build in remote areas.

And finally, we turn the floor over to reporter and amateur vexillologist Jakob McWhinney to explain all the reasons why he thinks the San Diego City Flag is terrible and why we should consider changing it.
