Al Roker announces crossover with famous family member today – fans will be amazed

Al Roker has every reason to be excited, as he has hinted that a member of his family will be Today – and they are incredibly famous.

When Sheinelle Jones filled in for Carson Daly on the Popstart announcements, she took the time to announce the musicians who would be visiting the studio in August and September, including LL Cool J, Khalid, Keith Urban and none other than Lenny Kravitz.

“Big week in September – Lenny Kravitz,” Sheinelle announced, explaining that he will appear on the show on September 12, 2024 – a Thursday.

The news of the rock star’s appearance caused a stir, and Craig Melvin shouted: “Your cousin!”

Al replied, “My cousin! My cousin!” He was clearly overjoyed at the news that Lenny Kravitz was coming to the studio, which drew murmurs of agreement from his colleagues – Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Craig and Sheinelle.

Yes, Lenny and Al are actually related. The unlikely duo are second cousins ​​on their father’s side.

The news came out in 2011 when Al revealed that their grandparents were cousins, with Lenny adding: “We both have Rokers. My mother was Roxie Roker, my grandfather Albert Roker from the Bahamas. It has to be that way.”

Lenny is the son of actress Roxie Roker, who played Helen Willis in the cult series “The Last Man”. The Jeffersons.

When news of the unlikely duo’s family connection broke, Al said, “All I know is that I’m in it. The kids think it’s cool.”

Lenny and Al have reunited several times on Today over the years. When Sheinelle asked the rocker during a 2020 appearance “what it feels like to be a rock star,” he replied, “Ask Al Roker. Al Roker knows what it’s like to be a rock star because he is one.”

The two constantly compliment each other in their relationship. Al recently posted a photo on Instagram of Lenny in an extravagant outfit with over-the-knee boots and a rope-like corset.

He captioned the photo: “And this is why I have to check my #cuzzins insta before I go out. I was going to wear this exact outfit this morning. Now I have to go back upstairs and change. I hate when you do this @lennykravitz.”

Lenny replied, “You’d definitely outdo me, buddy. I appreciate you.”
