Cast for “Blade Runner 2099” series announced

Dimitri Abold (The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and Lewis Gribben (Somewhere, boy) have joined Prime Video Blade Runner 2099 as series regulars alongside Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II), Daniel Rigby (Renegade Nell), Johnny Harris (A gentleman in Moscow), Amy Lennox (Only child), Sheila Atim (The Women King) and Matthew Needham (House of the Dragon) as recurring guest stars. The main roles in the series are played by the previously announced Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer.

Although exact plot details have not yet been revealed, the upcoming live-action miniseries is a sequel to Blade Runner 2049 (2017).

Silka Luisa (Radiant girls) will direct and executive produce the show under the Alcon Entertainment banner with co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson and head of Alcon TV, Ben Roberts, in association with Scott Free Productions and Amazon Studios. Ridley Scott, director of the original, groundbreaking Blade Runner (1982), will serve as executive producer alongside him Directed by Jeremy PodeswaMichael Green (author for Blade Runner 2049), Cynthia Yorkin and David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions, Frank Giustra, Tom Spezialy and Isa Dick Hackett.

It is not yet known who is responsible for the visual effects. The series is set to stream on Prime Video at a date yet to be announced.
