FIRST WARNING ACTION DAY: Heat warning extended until Saturday, humidity levels rising this weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) – EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING EXTENDED through Saturday for Yuma and Imperial Counties due to severe heat danger in the desert southwest.

Highs will continue to be higher than normal, above 110 degrees but below 120 degrees.

Monsoon flow from Mexico will increase through the weekend, bringing the possibility of rain showers in the desert southwest.

The greatest chance of showers will occur on Saturday morning, but there is still a chance of further showers throughout the weekend.

This weekend, skies will be partly cloudy with wind gusts of 25-30 mph.

Temperatures will drop to seasonal levels by Sunday and early next week, but humidity will keep it hot and humid.
