June 21 (UPI) – Prime Video has announced that it has ordered a half-hour series from Oscar and Emmy winner Riz Ahmed.

The Girls’ Night And Sound of metal Actor Ahmed will also produce, write the script and play the lead role in the show, which has not yet been named.

Ben Karlin – whose achievements include Modern Family, The Colbert Report And The daily show – will accompany the project together with Ahmed as executive producer and showrunner.

The series is billed as a fun conspiracy thriller and follows Shah Latif, an actor who is on the verge of his big break when he experiences an existential crisis.

“I’ve wanted to tell this story for a long time. It’s personal, brave and a lot of fun. It feels so good to now be writing and creating it with this incredible team,” Ahmed said in a statement on Thursday.
