After a stressful stay in Casa Amor, during which I almost pulled out my hair, everything is fine in the Love Island USA Season 6, because my favorite duo is back together and officially over their relationship. I’m talking about Serena and Kordell, of course.
I am grateful to the two members of the Love Island USA The cast of season 6 since the beginning of the season, and it’s just beautiful to see them overcome so much to be stronger than ever. I’m so impressed that I picked them as the winner of this season, something I said almost two weeks ago but hesitated after Daia came into the picture.
There are a few reasons why I think Serena and Kordell are the clear winners. I’ll start by highlighting their romantic journey. Admittedly, things between them didn’t get off to the best start, as Serena claimed to be a “slow love” and she didn’t seem that happy about being with Kordell. In fact, she told him she wanted space and encouraged him to try things with other women, as she was starting to see him as just a friend. Then, when Nicole came to the villa and turned Kordell’s head, Serena started to rethink her feelings for Kordell and finally realized she liked him more than she thought.
At this point, it looked like the couple were sailing through less choppy waters, but then came the hiccup with the dance challenge, where Serena left Kordell alone on the dance floor, stating she was very open to trying things out with one of the new bombshells. That exploration ended quickly, though, and after that, the two literally became my favorite viewers on the show. Their banter is incredibly sweet, they laugh more as a couple than anyone else this season, and their chemistry is limitless.
As I said, Casa Amor and the introduction of Daia proved to be the biggest hurdle for Serena and Kordell. For a moment, I doubted they would recover. The argument at the dock wasn’t pretty to watch, and yet it felt like it came from two people who really liked each other and were hurt. Thankfully, after a few conversations in which Kordell apologized for what he did to Daia and Serena admitted that she could have done more to let Kordell know how much he really meant to her, the two returned to their relationship. I was so happy to see this, you’d have thought I knew them personally. This is a love story that feels real. I can’t help but root for them.
Aside from the show’s history, I also believe they will win Season 6 because most of their competitors seem to be light years behind them. Aaron and Kaylor may have been the favorites, but Casa Amor and his gaslighting antics didn’t sit well with fans who were sick of his lies and tired of Kaylor crying only for her to quickly dismiss his hurtful actions.
While Leah is very popular with viewers, the same cannot be said for her partner Miguel. Originally, he seemed more like a “player.” Although this behavior is changing somewhat now, I’m not sure if his change isn’t coming a little too late.
Kendall and Nicole, despite having adorable chemistry, faced some backlash because of Kendall’s mouth during Casa. It didn’t do him any favors with viewers, who saw him encouraging Kordell to get close to Daia while denigrating Kordell’s connection to Serena. Kendall also claims to be Serena’s friend, so the optics weren’t great. He also did pretty much the same thing when it came to Aaron, Daniella, and Kaylor.
Caine and Sierra are a new couple that I don’t know if they’ll even make it past another elimination, and Rob and Daniella just don’t seem to be on solid ground after he witnessed her feelings for Aaron during movie night. So I’m left with the only couple that I think could challenge Serena and Kordell for the win – JaNa and Kenny.
A fan favorite all season, JaNa had a tough time in the villa after her attempts to build relationships with Coye and Connor failed. When Kenny came to the villa and he and JaNa went on a date that she claimed was the best she had during the show, the Love Island USA The audience hoped that she had found her partner. Unfortunately, Casa Amor came and Kenny ended up with Catherine.
Even though Kenny hooked up with another girl and swore to JaNa that it was over, Kenny and JaNa somehow managed to reconcile after he shed tears for hurting her and she realized he was still interested in her. They may not be Serena and Kordell, but they have some pretty sweet moments together and that resonates with fans. With the season ending on July 21, JaNa and Kenny still have some time to impress and win over viewers. All I’m saying is that I’ll root for them if Serena and Kordell don’t get into trouble again in their relationship and hopefully cross the finish line in first place.
Consequences of Love Island USA Season 6 will be broadcast on peacock.
