Christina Applegate urges Love Island contestants to stop their ‘weird’ behaviour

Christina Applegate has a bone to pick with the hottest dating show of the summer, Love Island.

The 52-year-old Vacation The actress is unconditionally part of the cult audience obsessed with the series, in which a group of contestants are locked in a mansion in search of love. But even though Applegate voluntarily tunes in every night to watch the dramatic episode, she has observed some behavior that she cannot stand.

On July 3, the Hollywood star penned a passionate message on X (formerly known as Twitter) confessing her love for the show while also expressing some heartache.

“I adore Love Island. I’ve watched every season,” she began, then added, “I have a problem with the production and the contestants.”

She asked the participants: “Can you please stop making strange noises with your water bottles?”

“It’s like holding a straw in your mouth and chewing on it without sipping,” Applegate explained.

The Dead to me The actresses also asked the girls with long acrylic nails to tone down the “click-clack” noises. But it didn’t stop there. In a follow-up post on X, Applegate admitted that she also had a problem with the contestants’ choice of deodorant.

“White deodorant in your armpits is gross in this heat,” she wrote. “You are all very attractive people so please use clear deodorant!!! I’m just helping you be the best version of yourselves. Haha.”

Judging by the comments on her posts, Applegate’s opinion seemed to align with the issues that other fans of the show were concerned about. Other X-users flooded her page and admitted that they also couldn’t stand watching the deodorant dry under the contestants’ arms.

“I hate it when it curdles,” one fan agreed, while another wrote, “I find curdled deodorant absolutely gross but I never said so. So gross. Thank you for opening this door to discussion.”

A third commented: “I always like the long nails.”
