Oakland County man wins $170,000 in Michigan lottery – The Oakland Press

An Oak Park man remembered to buy his Fantasy 5 tickets from the Michigan Lottery at the last minute and won $170,129.

Russell Morgenstern, 67, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the June 3 drawing. He purchased his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I play Fantasy 5 every day and have been playing online for about five or six years,” Morgenstern said. “At about 6 p.m. the night of the drawing, I realized I hadn’t bought my tickets yet, so I logged into my account and bought a few tickets with Easy Pick numbers. At 8 p.m. that night, I saw an email from the lottery telling me I had won.”

He plans to use his winnings for his retirement and to renovate his lake house.
