Cassidy confirms dating rumors about Connor – NBC Chicago

The romantic spark could still burn for two candidates who were eliminated from the sixth season of the successful Peacock reality series “Love Island USA”.

In an interview with NBC Chicago, contestant Cassidy Laudano confirmed for the first time a rumor about a romantic relationship between her and fellow actor Connor Newsum.

Laudano, a Chicago native who currently lives in Miami, joined the cast of “Love Island USA” as a bombshell in the show’s ongoing sixth season.

About a day after her arrival, Laudano had to make the difficult decision to team up with someone. Although she was also in a relationship with Newsum, she chose Rob Rausch.

The decision ultimately contributed to Newsum’s elimination as he was the last remaining individual candidate.

Among the remaining couples, the public could then vote in real time on which couple they thought was the best match.

Laudano and Rausch ended up at the bottom of the compatibility list, which meant they were both in danger of being eliminated in the following episode.

After her brief three-day stay in the villa, Laudano was eventually sent home, with many fans taking to social media to claim she had been “cheated” and “deserved better.”

A few days after her elimination, rumors immediately started circulating online about whether she had renewed her relationship with Newsum after the two were eliminated in quick succession.

“I did “I chose Rob,” Laudano told NBC Chicago, “but I’ve been in touch with Connor since I left the villa.”

“We didn’t have as much time as we would have liked to talk inside,” she added. “So we’ll continue outside and see how it goes.”

While she and Newsum are still taking it slow, Laudano said her time on Love Island has given her a new perspective on love.

“I’m more open-minded now,” Laudano said. “I’m just glad I put myself out there. It was a great experience.”

Laudano also raised a point that many long-time “Love Island” fans have made clear to themselves.

“I think this is the first year that Love Island USA has been as popular or more popular than the British version, which I know is watched by most people,” she said.

Laudano added that she considers Season 6 to be Love Island USA’s “breakthrough” show and believes many of the other contestants will be shocked to learn how many people actually watched.
