We love coffee in Wyoming, but it’s not cheap

The best part of my day is when I wake up to the smell of coffee and sit down to enjoy my first cup. If I’m in a rush and leave before I can drink coffee, luckily in Wyoming we have LOTS of opportunities to stop and purchase a cup of ambition.

You will be shocked to learn that according to a study by cashenet.com, the average price of a cup of coffee in Wyoming is the second highest in the country.

$3.75

Only South Dakota has a higher average price of $3.79. Maine has the lowest average price at $2.60.

Coffee crops, energy costs, and the labor needed to get your coffee to your table are all constantly changing. That’s why the price of your local brew can rise or fall from year to year. Even regular coffee beans from the supermarket cost 22% more today than they did three years ago. And yet, about 62% of millennials are willing to spend up to $7 a day on coffee because, like many older and younger generations, they believe that a little treat is a positive counterbalance to the challenges of daily life.

Americans spend over $110 billion on coffee, and as coffee becomes more popular and its prices continue to rise, the national annual average will also continue to rise.

Almost every day, it seems like a new coffee shop opens in towns across the state. Of course, there are plenty of national chains, but there are many more coffee shops in Wyoming. Driving around and trying new coffees is fun, especially when you’re supporting a local coffee shop.
