Fat Joe interview series “Fat Joe Talks” premieres on Starz

The 30-minute sit-down show will “give viewers unique insights into the lives of the most influential figures of our time who shape the cultural zeitgeist,” the broadcaster said in an announcement on Thursday (July 11).

Per DeadlineThe head of the terror unit will travel throughout the country to hold extensive discussions with cultural icons.

Fat Joe speaks is an exciting foray into the world of talk shows, and who better than Joe – a legend in his own right – to spark provocative conversations that capture the zeitgeist and matter to our audiences,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz. “We are thrilled to be working with Joe and our partners at SpringHill and Embassy Row to launch this incredible show that offers authentic, rare backstage access to these cultural icons.”

LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Philip Byron and Jamal Henderson will executive produce the series for SpringHill, while Michael Davies will serve as executive producer for Embassy Row.

Fat Joe entered the media space with his Instagram Live series The Fat Joe Showwhere he has spoken with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Floyd Mayweather, Jamie Foxx and others.

Last month, the 53-year-old made headlines when he expressed his belief that Chris Brown would be named Michael Jackson’s successor if a domestic violence incident had never occurred.

“If Chris Brown had never gotten into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson now,” he said. “Not How Michael Jackson — Michael Jackson. He is the most talented singer, artist, performer and hitmaker of our time.”

He continued: “There’s no one even close to Chris Brown and it’s time we put (the domestic violence case) behind us. As far as I know, 20 years have passed – there are no further incidents. We’re supposed to let this life go by without telling the truth? If the truth is an unpopular decision, it’s because everyone is afraid to tell it. They get canceled – especially famous people. But you know, the street – they know what’s going on. The street always knows, they tell you the truth.”

Surely fans will get more open content like the latter once Starz announces a release date for Fat Joe talks.
