Eminem hits out at P. Diddy with the lyrics of his new song “Fuel”

On his new In his song “Fuel,” Eminem tears Diddy to pieces with some of his most venomous verses in a long time. The track, which also features JID, appears on Eminem’s just-released 12th album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

After JID’s verse, Eminem focuses on recent allegations that Diddy sexually harassed women. “I’m like an ADMINISTRATOR,” he says, and the typo is intentional. “Have so many SA (sexual assaults)… Wait, he didn’t just write the word ‘rapper’ and leave out a P, did he?” And he pronounces the last three words to sound exactly like “P. Diddy.” Sean “Diddy” Combs, of course, is currently facing multiple lawsuits alleging rape.

As the verse unfolds, Em sends an RIP to both Diddy’s late pal Notorious BIG and his late nemesis Tupac Shakur, but with a twist that brings the subject back to Combs. “I don’t wanna mess with him,” Eminem raps, turning back to Diddy, “’cause he could kill me like Keffe D killed him.” Last year, authorities charged Duane “Keffe D” Davis with Shakur’s murder; Davis has claimed in the past that Diddy offered him $1 million to kill Shakur and rival hip-hop mogul Suge Knight.

For the rest of the verse, Eminem boasts about his lyrical acumen, which he probably didn’t need after the Diddy lyrics. He references LL Cool J, uses TechN9ne’s rhythm while rapping about TEC-9 guns (“ninas”), and references another celebrity currently on trial. “Fuck around and get popped like Halyna Hutchins, like I’m Alec Baldwin,” he raps, referring to the cameraman who died on the set of the film. rust when Baldwin allegedly fired a firearm at them.

The verses could be among Eminem’s cleverest verses ever. Two decades ago, he wrote in an interview with Rolling StoneP. Diddy himself recognized Eminem’s ability. “I think Eminem is one of the best,” Diddy said. “Biggie and Tupac are a whole different breed of monster though. They were just shit, in a whole different category, like the Hall of Fame. I think Eminem will definitely join them one day… but I wouldn’t compare players who are still playing now to people who are in the Hall of Fame.” Diddy may be thinking again about those words of praise.
