Friends of the Geneva Library hosts annual used book sale – Shaw Local

The Friends of the Geneva Public Library will hold its annual used book sale July 26-28, offering thousands of used books in the library meeting room at 227 S. Seventh St. in Geneva.

The sale will take place on Friday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 28, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to a press release.

There is a $5 admission fee on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, and books are half price on Sunday.

Hardcover books for adults and children cost $2, paperback books for adults cost $1 to $2, and board books for toddlers cost 50 cents.

The Friends accept credit cards, cash and checks as payment methods, the press release states.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the Friends, who support important library services and programs, including One Book, One Community, and the Summer Challenge.

One Book, One Community is an annual community-wide reading event that aims to stimulate shared dialogue through a series of activities.

The Summer Challenge requires participants to read, watch, listen and participate in library programs to win prizes.
