Can you really fall in love with someone without ever having seen them in real life? The new Netflix series Love is Blind UK aims to answer this question once and for all.

While most modern dating shows are about sunny getaways, gossip and swimsuits – and in the case of “Naked Attraction,” nothing at all – this new concept strips down to the essentials to find out if people can find real connections based purely on emotional symmetry.

If the process is successful, the happily-in-love couples on the show will see their relationship through to the end and eventually walk down the aisle at their own wedding. If it doesn’t work out… well, it will certainly make for entertaining television.

When is Love is Blind released in the UK?

Love is Blind will be released on Netflix in August, with numerous episodes appearing on the streamer throughout the month.

The first four parts will be released on Wednesday, August 7th, four more episodes will be released on Wednesday, August 14th, and the final two shows will be available from Wednesday, August 21st.

Love is Blind is based on the popular American reality show of the same name, which has been running for six seasons and follows the same concept. The British edition takes the participants to different locations. During filming, the series visits Great Britain, Sweden and Corfu.

Who will host Love is Blind UK?

“Love is Blind UK” is hosted by married presenting duo Emma and Matt Willis.

The former will be familiar to audiences from her time as a presenter of shows such as Big Brother, its sister series Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and The Voice UK. Her husband Matt, on the other hand, is best known as the bassist and co-singer of the pop band Busted.

In addition to being in the band, Matt has also appeared in shows such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and EastEnders.

What happens in Love is Blind UK?

Love is Blind UK puts new relationships to the test by inviting singles to build meaningful relationships based on nothing more than emotional connection.

The suitors are invited to meet someone they will ultimately marry, despite never having seen them in real life, until their fate is sealed. From then on, pure chemistry takes the reins, for better or for worse.

“Over several weeks, the newly engaged couples move in together, plan their wedding, and find out if their physical connection matches the strong emotional bond that developed in the pods,” Netflix explains the concept of the show.

“When their wedding day comes, will the realities of the real world and outside factors tear them apart or will they marry the person they fell blindly in love with? The series, hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, will reveal whether looks, race or age matter or if love really is blind.”

Love is Blind UK premieres on Netflix on Wednesday 7 August.
