Olly Alexander described himself as a “huge fan” of Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn and called her his “dream collaborator”.

The British singer-songwriter surprised partygoers with a last-minute performance in London’s Shoreditch district, delivering slower renditions of hits “It’s a Sin” and “Eyes Shut” before playing euphoric numbers like “Starstruck,” “If You’re Over Me” and “King.”

When asked who was on his wish list for future musical partnerships, Alexander told the PA news agency: “My dream collaborator, I would definitely choose Robyn because I’ve been a huge fan of hers for ages. She’s Robyn.”

The 33-year-old had previously finished 18th at the Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Dizzy”. He had previously said that the song was inspired by the music of the 1980s, including that of the Pet Shop Boys.

Over the course of his career, Alexander and his band Years & Years had five top 10 singles in the UK and two number one albums.

He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including the seventh series of the Channel 4 teen dramas Skins and It’s a Sin, for which he received a BAFTA nomination for his role as Ritchie Tozer.
