Ash Farrington, former development officer at Santa Clara University School of Law, has been named the new development director by the Aspen Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC).

According to AVSC, she has successfully cultivated relationships with major donors, foundations and corporate partners at SCU. AVSC said she brings extensive experience in all areas of development, including leading special events, engaging volunteers and driving fundraising at the annual and major donor levels.

AVSC CEO Dave Baugh expressed confidence in her appointment.

“Ash will be an invaluable asset to our community,” he said in a press release Thursday. “She deeply understands our mission and is deeply committed to advancing the club’s vision through the power of philanthropy. Her deep expertise will help AVSC achieve many of our ambitious goals in the short and long term.”

Prior to joining Santa Clara, Farrington worked for prominent nonprofit organizations in San Francisco and Chicago, including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation. During her tenure, she held leadership positions and managed major donor portfolios, successfully attracting support from individuals, foundations and corporations alike.

AVSC said she has been a lifelong athlete and is driven by her commitment to promoting character development in children through sports.

“I am thrilled to join the AVSC family, a remarkable club with a strong mission, a history of athletic excellence and a commitment to community access,” she said in the release. “I am inspired by the welcoming group of athletes, staff and parents who share a passion for fostering the values of commitment, teamwork and integrity among our valley’s youth, both on and off the mountain.”

She and her husband Ian live in Snowmass with their four young children.
