Will Jordan Love sign before training camp?

This one’s going to be easy: Do you think Jordan Love will sign a contract extension before training camp? Last month, Love said he had heard his contract would be finalized at the start of training camp. Clearly, both sides have been trying to get a deal done, as general manager Brian Gutekunst said the team wants to get the deal done “right” before the draft in April.

However, we’ve heard very little on the subject since Love spoke a month ago. Since then, a few things have changed in the quarterback market, too. First, the NFL lost its legal battle over the NFL Sunday Ticket package, meaning the league could lose a $2 billion revenue stream in the near future. When that happens, the league’s salary cap will almost certainly drop – even though starting quarterbacks make between $50 and $55 million per season.

In addition, negotiations between the Miami Dolphins and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa appear to have stalled as both sides cannot agree on compensation. The Dallas Cowboys also appear to be making no progress on a new contract extension with their quarterback Dak Prescott. Is this finally a turning point in the quarterback market? Have circumstances changed enough that the deadline for Love’s contract extension to begin training camp needs to be pushed back?
