Summary of Season 2, Episodes 1 and 2 of “The Responder”

So Chris has Jodie’s drugs. Hopefully he’ll get paid, but will it satisfy Franny? Even if it reaches Franny’s original price, Chris is on the hook for this new drug dealer and he can’t fall back on the past he had with Carl to get out of even worse trouble. He has Rachel by his side, but even Chris knows she’s still struggling after turning against her abusive ex Steve (Philip Baratoni) last season. Chris does what he can to look after her, but it only gets her into more trouble.

Chris never got Deb to sign the promise of a day job in writing. In the meantime, Ray (Warren Brown) Kate has already told Chris that he didn’t get the job he promised her, so she turned down her job in London for nothing. The next time Chris visits Tilly, it’s going to be an absolute nightmare, and that’s only if he survives the exchange with Jodie and hands it off to Franny. Considering we still have four more episodes, things are definitely going to get messier before they get better. If Chris is already in this much crap in the first few episodes, he’s going to need a prayer circle to get through the rest of the season.

The respondent Season 2 premiered on Thursday 11 July 2024 with two episodes on BritBox and will continue with two episodes per week every Thursday until the end of the month.
