Saran Folk Singer: Saran folk singer Rameshwar Gope performs on AIR | Patna News

Chhapra: Rameshwar Gope, a folk singer from Chhapra in Saran district, who secured ‘A’ grade in a recent audition organised by Patna All India Radio, will appear on an AIR programme on Friday. Rameshwar, a native of Madhawpur village, said he will sing traditional songs like Bhikhari Thakur’s ‘Mangala Charan’, Mahendra Mishra’s ‘Purvi’, ‘Kazri’ and ‘Jhumar’ on the city radio station. Rameshwar has been associated with AIR as a ‘B’ grade singer for the last 20 years. He credits his grandmother Piyaro Kunwar, father Hareshwar Gope and music teachers Shio Nath Prasad, Uma Pati Das and Pandit Ram Prakash Mishra for this success. He is also a teacher at RN High School in Yogia.
