Chris Jericho keeps sending people to the hospital with dynamite

It was somewhat overshadowed by another AEW heel who eliminated another AEW babyface one segment later, but last Wednesday on dynamite Chris Jericho brought back the fireball gimmick from his “I’m a Wizard” phase to take out HOOK.

We do not know if HOOK was hospitalized. But since we were informed on July 10, dynamite It seems a reasonable assumption that he was denied permission to travel because of the flames that were shot into his face.

That — and our latest Killer Samoa Joe promo on the following Rampage — set up a Stampede Street Fight between Joe and Jericho for last night. HOOK’s mentor was in control until he took the action backstage. There, Big Bill, Redwood of The Learning Tree, stood ready with a steel chair. Bryan Keith joined in the brawl, which lasted until Jericho drove Joe through some drywall with a forklift.

This led to an interruption of the doctor’s visit, a worried appearance by Colt Cabana, and a scene in which Joe is carried on a stretcher into an ambulance.

Almost forgot to mention…on top of all of this, Jericho continues to feud with Taz. He drives HOOK’s dad mad just because he holds the FTW title and reminds him that he renamed it the “For The World” Championship. He kicked him off commentary last week and banned him from the building last night.

My immediate reaction is that none of this really works well. It’s supposed to be great and memorable, but none of it sticks with me for long. But I do want to see Taz give Jericho a Tazmission, so I guess that’s something.
