The Charlevoix Area Garden Club hosts an annual fundraising luncheon

CHARLEVOIX – The Charlevoix Area Garden Club will host its annual garden fundraising luncheon at Castle Farms on Wednesday, July 10.

This year’s theme, “Gardening is Murder,” includes decorated tables, lunch provided by Grey Gables restaurant, and a cash-only wine bar.

The guest speaker is author Neal Sanders, whose book “Gardening is Murder” offers a humorous and insightful perspective on gardening from the point of view of a gardener’s wife. Sanders is known for combining good advice with debunking common gardening myths.

Proceeds from the luncheon support the club’s efforts to maintain eight public gardens throughout Charlevoix, including the Heritage Depot Gardens, Charlevoix Hospital Garden, Pere Charlevoix Garden, Charlevoix Post Office Garden and the downtown Memorial Garden. The club also supports various community programs, particularly educational initiatives for youth. This year, as part of the National Garden Club’s Plant America – Feed America initiative, the club planted a vegetable garden, with produce donated to the Charlevoix Food Pantry.
