Chris Jericho is being criticized for using toys as weapons in the street fight at AEW Dynamite Stampede on July 10

AEW Dynamite presented a packed show from Calgary this week, little did they know that Chris Jericho and Samoa Joe would bring the house down with not-so-legitimate foreign objects.

On the July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Samoa Joe lost a Calgary Stampede Street Fight to Chris Jericho. During the match, Jericho grabbed a bag from under the ring and dropped it, revealing several horseshoes. Jericho went to crash Joe through the horseshoes, but Joe blocked him. Jericho hit Joe with a boot to the gut and ran along the ropes, but Joe caught him and sent Jericho crashing back-first through the horseshoe. Joe followed with a senton and pinned Jericho, but Jericho kicked out.

Fans were quick to criticize this spot online, noting that Chris Jericho used plastic horseshoes as toys. Unlike the thumbtacks they used, these horseshoes were not real.

Eventually, Chris and Joe made it backstage, where Big Bill emerged from an adjoining room and hit Joe on the back with a chair to break the hold. Bryan Keith joined him and both men continued to beat on Joe. They held Samoa Joe down while Jericho hit him with a cowbell. Keith and Bill put Joe on a pallet on a forklift and Jericho got on the forklift. Jericho drove Joe and the forklift through a section of drywall in the Saddledome, causing the doctor to call a stop to the match.

We’ll see what’s next for Chris Jericho, but he had a pretty good showing in Calgary. Samoa Joe was taken away in an ambulance while The Learning Tree waved goodbye and said “Thank you!” The reason for Joe being taken away in an ambulance is interesting, but it’s uncertain what the endgame will be.
