George Kittle jokes about sneaking into Taylor Swift’s vacation home

NFL tight end George Kittle asked his friend Travis Kelce For a Taylor Swift-related favor during a recent visit to Rhode Island.

Kittle, 30, was one of many San Francisco 49ers stars who visited Running Back Christian McCaffreymarriage with Olivia Culpo on the East Coast earlier this month and happened to be near Holiday House, Swift’s famous vacation home in Watch Hill.

“I texted Travis. I said, ‘Hey, I have to go to the bathroom. Do you mind? Did Taylor leave a key somewhere?'” Kittle joked during an interview on Wednesday, July 10, on The Rich Eisen Show.

Kelce, 34, took the joking request in stride. “He said, ‘You can try to get in, but I think security will get you out,'” Kittle continued. “I thought, ‘Yeah, OK. I’m not going to try that.'”

When it comes to a VIP seat at Swift Epoch Tour, Kittle didn’t call in any favors. “I didn’t ask for tickets,” he said, adding that he hadn’t heard many other NFL stars ask Kelce to get them tickets. “I bet (former tight end) Greg Olsen did.”

Over the past year, Swift, 34, has become a fixture in the NFL because of her relationship with Kelce. The couple began dating last summer, with Swift attending one of his Kansas City Chiefs games for the first time in September 2023. She supported the team at 13 games throughout the season and even flew from Japan to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII in February. (Kelce’s team defeated Kittle’s 49ers in overtime to win his second consecutive Super Bowl.)

With a new NFL season about to begin, Swift’s ongoing tour was a factor in planning the schedule – but not for the reason some fans might suspect.

“We have of course taken into account the tour dates that take place in NFL stadiums,” Michael Norththe NFL’s vice president of broadcast planning, said in a statement in March. “I believe it’s in Miami, maybe New Orleans, Indy. We certainly considered that. One thing we didn’t consider: I heard a lot of conspiracy theorists talking about Kansas City being in Buffalo in the middle of the season, right when Taylor is playing Toronto. That’s definitely not something we noticed.”

While some football fans were skeptical of Swift’s appearances at games last season, others were excited by how many new viewers – especially women – tuned in to see Swift on the air. Kittle was previously asked in a pre-Super Bowl press conference about the unprecedented attention given to Kelce’s personal life.

“I can’t understand it,” he said in February. “Although it seems to be a distraction for all of us, maybe it’s not for him.”

Kittle continued, “I think Travis is a mature man, he knows how to handle his business, and I think he puts football above everything else. I think you can tell he’s playing in the Super Bowl, he obviously knows how to handle everything that happens off the field.”
