Reason why Samoa Joe lost to Chris Jericho in the Stampede Street Fight on July 10th AEW Dynamite

According to PWInsider, Samoa Joe was driven through a wall by Chris Jericho during their Stampede Street Fight on the 7/10 episode of Dynamite and lost the fight because Joe is likely being written off AEW TV because he returns as Sweet Tooth for the second season of Twisted Metal, which will stream on Peacock.

Filming for the second season is set to begin in Toronto this month. PWInsider points out that, according to several sources, filming for the series will last until at least October.

PWInsider also noted that they were told that the plot for Season 2 will essentially feature the following storyline: “Following the season one finale, John (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) enter the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man named Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new enemies and familiar faces, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated when he reunites with his old sister, vigilante Dollface.”

PWInsider further said they confirmed that a number of WWE talents, including Montez Ford, Cedric Alexander and Apollo Crews, auditioned for a new role named Axel. However, it was added that production is moving forward without any of the WWE talent being cast in the role.

The report concluded by noting that the second two installments will also feature a number of new characters, some of which are taken from the video game The Twisted Metal, including Mr. Grimm, Ashley and Bug, and Calypso.
