Third suspect arrested in connection with shooting of DJ in Jackson

BYRAM, Mississippi (WJTV) – A 19-year-old wanted in the shooting death of a local DJ and another murder in North Jackson has been arrested in Byram.

Byram police said Martravious Douglas was arrested at the Spring Lake Apartments on Wednesday, July 10. Another resident of the apartment was detained for questioning.


Douglas was wanted in Jackson on felony charges in connection with the death of 23-year-old Anthony Davis.

According to investigators, Davis was shot after suspects in two vehicles fired shots at each other near North State Street and Cedars of Lebanon Drive in January 2024. One of the vehicles involved, a black Chrysler 300, was recovered from the Autumn Place Apartments on Tuesday, January 30.

Jackson police previously arrested 20-year-old Malik Ray and Cortez George in connection with the case. They are still searching for 18-year-old Aidan Mayes, who is also wanted on a felony charge.

Investigators said Douglas is also wanted in connection with the death of Roitavious Greenfield. Police said Greenfield was shot multiple times in the 5900 block of Lake Trace Circle shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 3. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Investigators said Cameron Lee had previously been arrested in connection with Greenfield’s death and charged with murder.
