After landing two major commitments on Monday, the Michigan Wolverines are expected to receive more good recruiting news for the 2025 class this weekend. Three-star wideout/ATH Phillip Wright III is expected to announce his decision on Saturday, July 13, and all signs currently point to Ann Arbor.

There are currently two projections for Wright III at 247 Sports, and both favor Michigan. The same is true at On3, where Michigan is currently the favorite to sign the three-star prospect by 92.6 percent. Rivals, which sees Wright III as a four-star prospect, also favors Michigan here.
Don’t let Wright III’s three-star rating fool you. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound track star is dangerous with the ball in his hands and his quickness allows him to make plays that others can’t. He’s built similarly to former UM defensive lineman Mike Sainristil and current UM wideout Semaj Morgan.

Assuming Michigan doesn’t get another commitment by then, Wright III would be the 16th commitment in Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, a class that is currently ranked 11th nationally according to 247 Sports. So far, Michigan has only signed one other WR to the class, three-star Jacob Washington. There is also a high level of confidence that Michigan will eventually sign four-star wideout Andrew Marsh to the 2025 class, which would be another big commitment for the Wolverines. Unlike Wright III, Marsh isn’t expected to make his decision until August.
