How to redeem codes on Xbox Series X

Whether you have a code for a full game, a Game Pass subscription, or a gift card to top up money for a digital purchase of a game, the only thing standing between you and what that code unlocks is the Xbox Series X/S interface. Xbox hasn’t changed its interface much since the days of the Xbox One, but it can still be a bit cumbersome to navigate, especially if you don’t redeem codes very often. While the option is a bit out of the way, you can access it in a few seconds if you know where to look.

How to redeem codes on your Xbox Series X/S

If you have a code handy but don’t know which section of the Xbox Series X/S menu to redeem it in, we can help you out in a few steps.

Step 1: Start your Xbox Series X/S and press the Xbox button in the middle of your controller.

Step 2: In the instructions, select Save.

Step 3: Now press the view button on your controller to open the side menu.

Step 4: Choose Repay and enter your 25-digit code.

Step 5: Click Next to complete your redemption.
