Chris Jericho has commented on his retirement plans from AEW and revealed whether he is considering retiring from wrestling.

Following the announcement of John Cena’s retirement tour in 2025 at WWE Money in the Bank, one of Cena’s old rivals, Chris Jericho, was asked during an appearance on McGuire on Wrestling if he was considering hanging up his boots.

Despite competing for nearly 35 years, Jericho has dismissed the idea of following in Cena’s footsteps anytime soon, saying he’s really enjoying his current run in AEW and still believes he can compete at a high level.

Jericho said:

“I’ll know when it’s time, you know? I really enjoy what I do and I still contribute at a high level,” Jericho said. “I can still put on the best match on the show every night – not every night, but every night.”

“And I just love what we’re doing with AEW right now. So there’s really no rush. And when I know, I’ll know. And I think that’s the best way to put it. And right now, I’m having too much fun and enjoying it and I’m really enjoying building AEW.

“After just five years, we have come so far and we still have so much to do at the highest level. From that point of view, we will see. And at the moment, there is no reason to stop as long as I am having fun, enjoying myself and feeling comfortable in and out of the ring.”

Although Jericho has no immediate plans to retire from the ring, he admitted he is a fan of the way Cena is ending his career – calling the 2025 farewell tour a “cool way to end it.”
